Greetings in Christ Jesus! St Athanasius Press began in Dec 2000 with the publishing of our first title, Religious Orders of Women in the U.S. by Elinor Tong Dehey which remains one of our best selling books. For a number of years, I have been selling books, specializing in new and used Catholic books printed prior to 1960 or modern reprints thereof. In working with used Catholic books it became more than apparent of the incredible number of great Catholic books that have been allowed to become out of print including many classics and books written by Saints.
With that in mind, it became our goal to bring back these great Catholic books and get them back into the hands of the Catholic Faithful. Even more importantly because of the times we live in and the numbers of Catholics that have never really learned their Catholic Faith or have been greatly misinformed it is even more urgent to carry out this task.
In 2006, it was and is our hope to bring many forgotten Catholic books, many of them last in print in the 1800's back into circulation once again. This has been made possible by the grace of God, by the prayers of so many, by the customers who support us and by the Bookstores who support us also. Without which these books would remain unknown and the Saints silenced. Your prayers are always welcome!
If you have suggestions for books that you would like to see reprinted please let us know. If you have Catholic books in any condition from before 1965 that you would like to donate, it would be most appreciated. It's also possible that we might be able to purchase your old books to resale to help support my family and to fund this apostolate. If you have specific books that you wish to donate only for the purpose of reprinting, that can be arranged as well. Please note to reprint books it is necessary to take apart the book in order to scan each page. Just so you are aware that the book will be unusable after such a process.
We are a family of 6, one of our children, St Charity being in heaven. We currently homeschool our 3 children and belong to the Basilica of St Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa and attend the Latin Indult Mass which is at 12 pm every Sunday afternoon. I am a convert from Protestantism and have been blessed to see my mother and younger brother convert to the Catholic Faith by the grace of God. God is Good! We live and work in SW Wisconsin. Promoting the Catholic Faith is my full time occupation and I consider it a labor of love. Your prayers, purchases, suggestions, best wishes are all important and appreciated.
